EasyPay Overdraft Protection Disclosure
(In compliance with 12 CFR §707.11(b)(1))
Service Description
Gold Coast Federal Credit Union (“GCFCU,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) may, at our discretion, pay overdrafts on your checking account through our EasyPay Overdraft Protection Service to help you avoid declined transactions or returned items. This service is not a line of credit and payment of any overdraft is discretionary, we do not guarantee payment of all overdrafts.
1. Fee for Each Overdraft (12 CFR §707.11(b)(1)(i))
A fee will be charged each time an overdraft is paid under this service, as disclosed in our Fee Schedule.
-
- Courtesy Pay/Overdraft Paid Item Fee: $34.00 per item.
- Overdraft Transfer (Linked Account or Line of Credit): $7.00 per transfer.
- Multiple fees may be assessed if an item is presented more than once or if multiple items are paid while your account is overdrawn.
Refer to the GCFCU Fee Schedule at https://gcfcu.org/fee-schedule/ for current fees.
2. Transactions Covered (12 CFR §707.11(b)(1)(ii))
Fees may be imposed for overdrafts created by the following types of transactions:
-
- Checks, ACH (Automated Clearing House) payments, and recurring electronic debits.
- Online bill payments and automatic payments.
- In-person withdrawals or teller transactions.
- ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card purchases (only if you have opted in for ATM/debit card coverage).
We may, at our discretion, pay overdrafts for these transactions based on your account history, deposits, and relationship with the Credit Union. Refer to the Overdrafts section of the Universal Account Agreement (p. 4–5) for additional terms.
3. Repayment Requirements (12 CFR §707.11(b)(1)(iii))
Any overdrawn balance and associated fees are due and payable immediately. You agree to repay the negative balance in full within 30 calendar days from the date of the overdraft notice. Failure to do so may result in suspension of overdraft privileges, closure of your account, or collection action, as permitted under the Universal Account Agreement.
4. When We May Not Pay an Overdraft (12 CFR §707.11(b)(1)(iv))
GCFCU pays overdrafts at its sole discretion and does not guarantee payment in all circumstances. We may decline to pay an overdraft if:
-
- Your account is not in good standing or is subject to legal or administrative order.
- You have an outstanding or unresolved negative balance beyond 30 days.
- Deposits are irregular or insufficient to reasonably cover overdrafts.
- You have a history of repeated overdrafts or returned items.
- The overdraft would cause your account to exceed the maximum overdraft limit established by the Credit Union.
If we do not authorize or pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined or returned unpaid, and a Returned Item/NSF Fee of $34.00 may apply.
Important Additional Terms
- Opt-In Requirement: ATM and one-time debit card transactions are covered only if you have affirmatively opted in for overdraft coverage under Regulation E (12 CFR §1005.17).
- Account Eligibility: EasyPay is available only to members in good standing, with an open GCFCU checking account, regular deposits, and no account restrictions.
- Account Agreement Control: This disclosure supplements and does not replace the terms of the GCFCU Universal Account Agreement (Effective 09/01/2025) and Fee Schedule, both of which govern your account and overdraft services.
